Tangerine Dream; when did you first hear of them, and what album sums them up?
They played at Coventry Cathedral in 1975…but unlike another group of Germans some thirty years before, they left with feelings of serenity and peace (so said my eldest brother) – and, bedamned…the cathedral still in one piece.
It is argued that from 1970-76 they were at the top of their game, but Hollywood called, and the soundtrack drug turned them into a circus act. Discuss.
wow, i vagueley remember staggering out fo the lanch and over the road to watch them in the ruins… one or two good songs and a fantastic lightshow… that would have been 74-5..
and i was 17… im 50 next week, so excuse my poor memory…
phadedra incredible album… and i still live in coventry, and the lanchester polytechnic has become coventry university…
